The successful Netflix show will also have an anime film

No need to feel that way any longer because Netflix knows just how popular its adaption of the famous fantasy series is right now, and in an exciting new announcement, the streaming service confirmed that it is working on an anime movie offshoot.

Titled “The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf,” Netflix is not saying much about the plot other than the fact that there will be a “new threat facing the Continent.”

The live-action series’ Beau DeMayo and Lauren Hissrich are involved, and Studio Mir, the studio behind “Legend of Korra,” is producing the title.

The anime is said to expand the world of Netflix’s live-action show, but it remains unclear whether the two will tie into each other. Casting announcements haven’t been made yet.

The live-action series of “The Witcher” was met with great success. In its Q$ 2019 earnings report, Netflix revealed that more than 76 million accounts watched the show in the first four weeks of release. The show stars Henry Cavoll, Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Joey Batey, Jodhi May and more.

Season 2 of the live-action series is currently in production and has a tentative release date of 2021.
