Blake Lively may be heading back to TV screens very soon, but she will be taking a different approach. The “A Simple Favor” star is currently in the process of developing a scripted television series for Amazon that would revolve around the modern fashion industry and everything revolving around it — the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Lively will reportedly work alongside with the streaming service for the untitled show, however, the series will seemingly have a strong “merchandising component” alongside it. In other words, some of the outfits featured on the show could be highlighted and be made available for purchase on Amazon’s website.
The actress herself will also reportedly only produce the show, as opposed to starring in it.
Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, confirmed the news during the Vanity Fair New Establishment Summit and even called Lively “a force of nature: ambitious, smart and talented” when she announced plans to work with the actress on the show.
Salke also said in an interview with “Variety” that, “Blake also has a huge appetite for a big scripted show with a really interesting writer who I can’t talk about yet that she’s targeted who will bring to life a scripted show that will be excellent and culturally relevant and original and all those things, but it will also have a connection to a merchandising opportunity.”
Other details about the Lively-helmed show remain scarce, but until more is known about the upcoming show, are you excited to see Lively’s work on the small screen again?
