You can make meals fit for the queen as Buckingham Palace’s sous chef. The Royal Household shared their expectations for the job on an online listing, and part of the requirements as the famed residence’s sous chef is to be involved in the planning and creation of dishes for various events.
The position of sous chef at Buckingham Palace is very senior, has a highly distinguished title and offers competitive pay.
“Alongside the Head Chef you’ll lead and motivate the Kitchen team, playing an integral part in the day-to-day running of our operations,” the job listing stated.
The lucky candidate will join “an accomplished team” and word hands-on with colleagues “to deliver food to the highest standards.”
Royal watchers who are interested in getting a “taste” of life inside Buckingham Palace should have experience in the food industry, strong leadership and communication skills as well as be trained in classical French cuisine.
But of course, the hired candidate will receive some training to grow within their role and develop their managerial and technical cookery skills.
But the job gets better, especially for those chefs who dislike working in the same place day after day. Being a full-time sous chef at the Royal Palace “will involve traveling to other royal residences.” The Palace will also cover housing and expenses during travels as well.
