But that’s not even the best part. This 10-year old pooch took on the responsibility of looking after nine newborn ducklings when their mother got lost crossing the Mountfitchet Castle properties.
Whether the ducklings are cuddling under his belly, climbing atop his back, or nurturing themselves in the warmth of his fur, it’s clear that Fred has got this situation under his paws. While there was never any doubt that dog was “man’s best friend,” we now have confirmation he is “duck’s best friend” as well.
