First Grader Wins National Doodle 4 Google Contest

Google received 180,000 ‘doodles’ for the Doodle 4 Google contest. And just yesterday, they announced their winner. Sarah Gomez-Lane, a Virginia elementary school student. Google is celebrating her artistic ability as well as her obsession with her unique dream job.

The 6 year-old was inspired by her love of fossils. She is absolutely with all things dinosaurs. She named her doodle “Dino Doodle.” She says that dinosaurs inspire her to study more so she can be a paleontologist, her dream job. She has been drawing since she could pick up crayons, colored pencils, or markers.

There was also a hefty prize for young Sarah. She will receive a $30,000 college scholarship as well as a once in a lifetime trip to the Google headquarters where she will meet the people who will put her design into action.

Congrats Sarah! Check out the video to see her awesome artwork.
