New Wonder Woman movie coming soon
The mighty female superhero is back to save the day once more as seen in the first trailer of the highly anticipated “Wonder Woman 1984,” the sequel to 2017’s “Wonder Woman.” The trailer sees the return of Gal Gadot as Diana Prince during the mid-1980s, decades after the events in the first film, which was set during World War I.
The trailer introduces viewers to Kristen Wiig’s character, Barbara Minerva, also infamously known as Cheetah, who is most likely the film’s supervillain. There is a lot of interaction between Diana and Minerva, but the trailer still shows many action sequences and fight scenes. Additionally, the trailer definitely shows off the ‘80s with all the neon colors and puffy hairdos.
The biggest reveal though is that Steve Trevor (played by Chris Pine) is alive and doing quite well. But fans will have to wait until the movie release to find out why that is seeing as he died from the events in the first film.
Fans also get to meet Maxwell Lord (played by Pedro Pascal), an astute businessman with close ties to the Justice League in the comics.
“Wonder Woman 1984,” once again directed by Patty Jenkins, is scheduled to hit theaters June 5, 2020.
