Gwyneth Paltrow, actress and Goopster, has finally married her boyfriend of four years, Brad Falchuck, American Horror Story and Glee co-creator, in the Hamptons on Saturday.
Prior to the luxurious wedding, two had confirmed their engagement on the cover of January’s Sex & Love issue of Goop, where they wore matching outfits and expressions of deep love and joy.
“Personally, at midlife, I have tried to accept how complex romantic love can be,” Paltrow wrote inside the issue. “I have decided to give it a go again, not only because I believe I have found the man I was meant to be with, but because I have accepted the soul-stretching, pattern-breaking opportunities that (terrifyingly) are made possible by intimacy.”
Since the announcement Paltrow has been actively planning her wedding, making sure that everything is perfect and up to her chic standards.
“I’m excited about everything!” Paltrow said to PeopleStyle. “I’ve never had a wedding before. [Paltrow and ex-husband Chris Martin eloped in 2003.] So even though I’m 45, I sort of feel like a 21-year-old.”
The day before the wedding, the couple held their rehearsal dinner at Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld’s larger, Further Lane mansion. The rehearsal dinner was a high-flying and celebrity-stuffed affair, as it naturally should be.
However, the actual wedding took place at Paltrow’s $5.4 million home in the Hamptons, which she’d bought with Martin in 2006. The ceremony began around 5 p.m. and the couple exchanged their vows under an archway consisting by flowers, greenery, and lanterns.
Because privacy was high on the wish list for the newlyweds, the guest list was kept intimate with just 75 lucky friends and family members attending the big day. But the list was still star-studded as those in attendance included the mother of the bride, Blythe Danner; Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan Downey; Rob Lowe and his wife Sheryl Berkoff; and Jerry Seinfeld and his wife Jessica Seinfeld.
It was also reported that Paltrow’s friend Cameron Diaz arrived early to help the bride get dressed. Steven Spielberg, who was responsible for Paltrow’s big break in the film “Hook,” was also in attendance, but as the photographer. The legendary director was filming everything with a handheld camera.
