Without a doubt fans of horror and the Halloween season are looking to quench their thirst for scary films, especially with the new “Halloween” dominating the box office this weekend. The success of the “Halloween” film has horror fans around the world expecting the other iconic slasher franchises to receive the reboot treatment, and it looks like we just might get it.
It’s starting to look as though Jason Vorhees and “Friday the 13th” are next on the reboot list, but with a surprising producer aiming to give the series new life.
According to “Bloody-Disgusting,” Lebron James and his Springhill Entertainment company are in talks with Vertigo Entertainment to produce a new “Friday the 13th” movie.
James is already known to be a huge horror fan. He slayed last year’s Halloween with his legendary Pennywise costume and even released Friday the 13th-themed sneakers.
This doesn’t come as a big surprise because James has already been venturing into the movie sector as of late.
The NBA superstar-turned-producer has already attached himself to the upcoming “Space Jam” sequel, and will be producing alongside “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler.
Other works James is also producing “The Shop” on HBO and “Warriors of Liberty City” on Starz. James has been making moves in Hollywood since he made the decision to sign a multiyear contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, allowing him to explore different film ventures in addition to his sports career.
