Man Arrested For Rubbing Produce On His Butt

People are known to do weird and gross things when shopping at a grocery store, but sometimes, their actions are considered too indecent or downright disgusting. It’s even worse when the actions of one person can negatively affect other shoppers and pose a danger. Once such incident occurred at a Virginia grocery store that caused employees to throw away multiple pallets of goods.

A man was arrested at a Northern Virginia grocery store after allegedly dropping his pants and rubbing produce on his buttocks. Police were called to a Giant Food grocery store in Manassas, VA, after a loss prevention employee reported seeing the man picking fruit off of the shelf, rubbing it on his butt and putting the fruit back on the shelf.

Manassas City Police Department charged Michael Dwayne Johnson, 27, with destruction of property and indecent exposure. As a result of Johnson’s actions, the store had to destroy several pallets of produce.

Authorities have not released a motive, and it is unclear if Johnson has a lawyer. However, Senior Police Officer Charles Sharp told USA TODAY that he does not believe the incident was mental health related. Additionally, at the time, Johnson was with another person at the grocery store who was not charged.
