Finding a job in 2018 is difficult for everyone, no matter your profession. Chris Sumlin, an aspiring TV writer who is currently studying at Boston University, knows the struggle all too well despite already having two books published.
But with a twist of fate and a little help from one of the Kardashian sisters, Sumlin was able to turn his job-hunting scene around.
Sumlin recently revealed that after adding a mention of a social media interaction he had with West to his resume, he was asked to come in on three separate job interviews.
“Y’all I added that @KimKardashian retweeted my graduate school paper on my resume and I’ve already booked THREE job interviews in less than a week,” Sumlin wrote. “This woman’s influence is helping me secure a bag.”
The added line in Sumlin’s resume reads: “Retweeted by Kim Kardashian West for impressive work in graduate school.”
As expected, the news went viral that it even caught the attention of Kim Kardashian herself. It prompted the KKW Beauty mogul to respond to his tweet “Good luck! I hope you get the jobs!”
But Sumlin already has some impressive experience under his belt as well. He worked at Turner Broadcasting Systems and was an intern at “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” and as many fans pointed out, it may have been because of his impressive job history that helped him land the interviews as well.
Either way, let’s hope Sumlin finds success in his job search and lands the job of his dreams!
