Widow is getting her own action-packed movie soon
The first “Black Widow” trailer has officially dropped and it finally puts Scarlett Johansson’s Marvel hero in the spotlight!
Despite the main storyline coming to an end in “Avengers: Endgame,” the upcoming “Black Widow” movie will look back at what made the assassin who she is and is a reminder for all fans that Marvel isn’t quite done with its OG crew.
The highly anticipated stand-alone movie will focus on Natasha Romanoff’s backstory and takes place during the two-year gap between “Captain America: Civil War” and “Avengers: Infinity War.”
This also clears the air for many people who have been wondering how it’s possible to do a Black Widow movie seeing as Romanoff sacrificed herself to secure the Soul Stone so the Avengers could take down Thanos.
A first, lengthier version of the trailer was originally released at Disney’s biennial D23 fan convention in August, but only attendees of the event were able to witness the first look.
The trailer takes viewers to Romanoff’s trip to Budapest — a location Clint Barton (Hawkeye) referenced many times in previous Avengers movies. The trailer introduces Yelena Belova – Romanoff’s sister who becomes the second Black Widow in the comics series.
Black Widow will mark the beginning of Marvel Studios’ Phase 4 and will be released on May 1st, 2020.
