After almost 10 years, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have finally tied the knot. The 26-year-old pop star and actress and 28-year-old actor met in back in 2009 while filming “The Last Song,” but the two made their relationship red carpet official in early 2010, right around the time the movie was released.
Since then, the two have become a fan-favorite couple, and they got engaged in 2012, but broke up a year later.
Over the next few years, the two went on to spark romance rumors with other celebs and each went about their own lives, but in 2015, it seemed Cyrus and Hemsworth had gotten close again and rekindled relationship.
The two seemingly went public about their rekindled relationship over the 2016 New Year’s Holiday, and Cyrus later confirmed their engagement was back on. But it wasn’t until almost three years later, just before this Christmas, that the two sparked rumors that they had already gotten married.
A friend shared some photos on social media that sparked the rumors, but on Dec. 26, Cyrus confirmed the rumors with a few Instagram photos of own, with one captioned “12.23.18” and another “10 years later…..”
A source told PEOPLE that the couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Tennessee.
“They always wanted a small, private celebration with family and close friends and that’s what they got. Miley seems ecstatic,” the source said. “She loves her Tennessee home and was very happy about having the ceremony there.”
