Rain on a wedding day isn’t exactly happily ever after for most brides, but for one bride, a little rain didn’t stop her from having the wedding she planned. Despite monsoon season still battering the Philippines, causing heavy flooding to Manila and other nearby areas, Jobel Delos Angeles, 24, faced the heavy rains from Tropical Storm Yagi and walked down the aisle in the province of Bulacan, near the capital Manila.
In a video uploaded to Facebook, Delos Angeles can be seen smiling as she holds her white wedding gown above the brown rainwater while carrying a bouquet in her other hand. The bride and her parents waded down the aisle towards the groom who was dressed in a suit and sandals. Delos Angeles’ husband-to-be seemed unconcerned as he took his bride’s hand and led her to the alter.
Many areas in the Philippines have been experiencing flash flooding due to a south-west monsoon, which was made worse by the nearby tropical storm Yagi that brought heavy rains and fierce wind to the islands. But a flooded aisle was the least of the married couple’s concerns. They both arrived to the church by boat as no cars would drive them to the location and exchanged their vows in the flooded church.
