Where’s 007 when you need him?
Two men robbed a Swedish cathedral and got away with a few royal Swedish crowns when they smashed into their security cases on Tuesday, July 31.
It was a daring heist reporter say because the two men robbed the place in broad daylight and their getaway vehicle of choice, a speedboat.
A witness reported to the police that she was having lunch when she saw the two men running with the stolen items and escaping in an open-topped motorboat.
The men stole two crowns that were formerly owned by Swedish monarch Karl IX and Kristina, from the Strängnäs Cathedral. The thieves also made off with a golden orb adorned with a crucifix that dates back to the 12th century.
The crowns were from the fifteenth century and haven’t been appraised yet, but police say they’re on the lookout for the two suspects.
If 007 was on call, the two men would’ve had a run for their money. That’s for sure.
