Sephora is standing up to create a meaningful brand by crossing gender lines and catering to all members of their potential customer base. Sephora has proved that they are all about inclusion no matter the audience, welcoming all customers through their recent addition of an in-store makeup class catering to the transgender community.
Makeup is a huge part of culture, and in many cases, makeup helps people feel like the best version of themselves. Part of Sephora’s mission as a company has long been to “inspire fearlessness” when it comes to makeup, which is why the makeup mega-retailer is offering free classes created specifically to help transgender and non-binary people learn techniques and discover products that will help them “find and empower” their beauty.
Titled “Bold Beauty for the Transgender Community,” classes are offered at 150 stores across the U.S. The 90-minute, in-store workshops are taught by Sephora store instructors and are for people of all gender expressions, covering personalized skin-care tips and application techniques for color correcting and creating a smooth complexion.
Those who are unable to attend an in-store class can watch Sephora’s how-to video tutorials on the Sephora Stands YouTube channel, led by Transgender Sephora Beauty Advisers.
“We stand with all members of the LGBTQA community and are committed to providing these individuals with the tools they want to feel confident and beautiful every single day,” said Corrie Conrad, Head of Social Impact and Sustainability for Sephora in a news release.
