It’s not officially fall without Starbucks’ famous Pumpkin Spice Latte and Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino. But this year, the Seattle coffee giant has rolled out the autumn season drink early — Aug. 28. The release date is the earliest that the popular chain has ever made the popular flavored coffee drink available.
Some people might be upset that the Seattle-based coffee chain is prematurely ending summer, but don’t blame them. Dunkin Donuts beat them to it by starting their PSL season Monday.
Fall fans and coffee connoisseurs are sure to be delighted to pick up a hot or cold cup of the limited edition latte and Frappuccino, which are made with pumpkin pie flavor and seasoned with cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg.
But as popular as the PSL is, some people don’t like the sweet, spicy, and pumpkin-flavored coffee. No worries though because Starbucks has an equally delicious fall-themed alternative for coffee connoisseurs to sip — the beloved Salted Caramel Mocha.
The rich and creamy drink is made by mixing mocha sauce, toffee nut syrup, espresso, and milk, and comes topped with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, and a fancy blend of turbinado sugar and sea salt, according to Starbucks.
Starbucks previously offered the Salted Caramel Mocha for limited runs in recent years, while the PSL is now in its 15th year. This year though, both drinks will only be available in the U.S. and Canada while supplies last.
To add more to its yummy fall menu, Starbucks rolled out three new food items to its baked goods lineup — Maple Pecan Muffins, Apple Cider Doughnuts, and Morning Muffins. Returning favorites like Pumpkin Scones are also available.
