Amtrak is offering a new scenic train route
Have you ever wanted to hashtag “travel goals” on your Instagram from taking a train ride? If so, then this one train ride that will take you cross-country traveling is sure to be the experience of your dreams.
Not only is the journey super cheap, but it will take you to tons of cities out west.
Amtrak, one of the biggest railway services in the country with more than 500 destinations in 46 states and three Canadian provinces, is bringing back the old-fashioned means of travel because the journey is a vacation everyone should get a chance to do at least once.
Called the “Sunset Limited” trip, the train ride takes passengers from New Orleans to several cities in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California, all for the amazing price of $142.
If traveling during this time, passengers will be able to see the colorful foliage decorating Mother Nature. Other sights include the Bayou Country, Mexican border, Southwestern deserts, and California mountains. Some iconic landmarks include Union Station in LA, The Tower of Americas in San Antonio, 19th Street Shopping District in Houston and the national parks in Palm Springs, Alpine, and Tucson.
Although the trip is much longer than a flight, the 48-hour travel time allows time for relaxation and a chance to enjoy the gorgeous nature that decorates the sides of the train tracks.
