You can stream ‘The Mandalorian’ series on Disney+
The highly anticipated “The Mandalorian” series has finally debuted on Disney’s newest streaming service, Disney+, and fans cannot seem to get enough of the series. The main character, a Mandalorian, is played by Pedro Pascal, with the story following the lone gunslinger on his hunting trips for wanted criminals.
However, as many will know from the first episode, that all changes quickly, giving fans the true storyline of the series by episode 2.
“The Mandalorian” is set after “Return of the Jedi” and follows the bounty of a particularly dodgy mission during the fall of the Empire. Episode two is called “The Child,” and shows the Mandalorian walking around with what appears to be a “Baby Yoda” dressed in similar robes to those worn by the great Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, it is revealed by Taika Waititi’s droid IG-11 that the baby Yoda is actually 50 years old, which means that he cannot be Luke’s ancient mentor. It also means that species age differently.
This is huge for the Stars Wars franchise because little has been known about Yoda’s species in the official series canon. George Lucas never quite explained it, and Yoda’s race has never really been revealed.
But hopefully, with this series, Disney is suggesting that the show is interested in answering some of those burning questions.
