The Safari Central app lets you interact with augmented reality versions of protected animals right in your own environment. A new mobile app is giving animal conservation a wild new look. Safari Central, developed by Internet of Elephants, allows you to interact with virtual versions of endangered animals right in your own environment. The app features six real-life studied by conservation partners – an elephant, grizzly bear, jaguar, black rhino, lemur, and its most popular animal, a pangolin named “Rockstar”. The app also allows you to share photos on social media and to learn about the animals’ real relatives and how to protect them. In-app payments go directly toward conservation initiatives. In the past 40 years, the world has lost 50% of its wildlife. IOE hopes the app will make people care more about decreasing populations.
