Although in the first episodes of ‘Life of Kylie’ the cosmetics queen reveals that the spotlight sometimes makes her feel “insane”. It sure seems to be benefiting Kylie Jenner when it comes to her very lucrative cosmetics company, and she is about to be able to change the title on her resume from millionaire to billionaire. While the spotlight might be overwhelming to the youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan at times, her lip kits that are part of her cosmetics company, have generated her quite a bit of money.
According to Kylie’s mom, Kris Jenner, Kylie Cosmetics has made $420 million over the past 18 months. Comparatively, it took Estée Lauder almost a decade to make $500 million and it took Bobbi Brown 25 years before making $1 billion. While Kris handles the business side of the company, Kylie is in charge of all of the creative details. Kim, Kylie’s big sister also has her own cosmetics line. The sisters claim that there is room for both of them in the industry and don’t have any friction between them. Kylie plans on working on a line of concealers and foundations next.
In addition to Kylie Cosmetics, she has a fashion line with her sister Kendall and also has a campaign with Puma. Plus, she gets paid for promotions that she does on Instagram. Kylie is expected to surpass her sister Kim, who brought in about $50 million last year. While her products are currently only sold on-line, she hopes to open a store some day.
