World’s Longest Fingernails Are Finally Cut After 66 Years

Long nails are definitely in right now, women seem to be rocking them left and right. But this takes long nails to a new level. Shridhar Chillal has been growing his nails for 66 years and has broken the record for the longest nails on the planet. The 82 year-old man started growing his nails when he was just 14 years of age.

Just this week, he decided to finally cut his nails off and are now on display at the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! in Times Square. The nails were a over 31 feet long and is almost the same length as a London bus. He explains that his nails are really fragile so he can’t sleep much. When sleeping, every 30 minutes he moves his hand to the other side of the bed to ensure his hand doesn’t fall asleep and he does not harm his nails.

He only grew out one hand that way he could pursue his passion of being a photographer. He has a special tripod that allows him to use just one hand.
Since he has finally relieved himself of fingernails, hopefully he can get a good nights sleep and start using both hands to hold his camera.
