Late Disney Star To Receive Special Mention In ‘Decendents 3’
A Disney and Hollywood legend has tragically passed, and fans across the globe have been mourning as well as paying tribute. A day after Cameron Boyce’s sister paid tribute to her late brother, Disney did the same, reportedly canceling the “Descendants 3” premiere on July 22 in honor of the 20-year-old. Boyce recently died this from a seizure caused by epilepsy.
In a heartfelt statement released by Disney, the studio said it was “proud to be part of Cameron Boyce’s legacy by showcasing his talents on screen.” In place of the Descendants premiere, Disney will make a donation to the Thirst Project, an organization that provides communities with clean drinking water, and organization “to which Cameron was deeply committed.”
Disney also stated that “with permission from the Boyce family, Disney Channel will dedicate the telecast of Descendants 3 in Cameron Boyce’s memory.” “Descendants 3” is set to be the final installment of Kenny Ortega’s musical series.
In the series, Boyce played the teenage son of Cruella de Vil. Boyce also starred in “Jessie” and “Eagle Eye” alongside Shia LaBeouf, along with “Grown Ups” with Adam Sandler.
Many of Boyce’s co-stars and past co-stars have paid tribute by posting emotional messages and videos on social media commemorating the late actor. Adam Sandler even raised $15G for Thirst Project in honor of late Disney star.
Though Boyce is no longer with us, he will always be remembered and go down in Hollywood history as one of the most talented young actors to grace the big and small screen.
