Employee caught taking a bath in the kitchen sink of Wendy’s
This week in social media, a video of a young man soaking in a Power Soak sink in the back of a Wendy’s restaurant has gone viral, causing the restaurant to come under fire and sparking a lot of conversation.
The video was taken at a Wendy’s in Greenville, MI and posted to TikTok by user @paulkash2. The video has since been taken down, but not before the video made its way onto and was shared about 3,000 times. The video quickly went viral and made its way into the news.
The 23-second video shows a shirtless young man sitting in a sink filled with water. He says that it “feels like a hot tub,” and then someone in a Wendy’s uniform tosses something in the sink and yells “wash yourself.” Laughter from co-workers can be heard in the background.
The unsavory clip was posted with the following caption: “Almost got fired for this [expletive].” It’s an image that has left a bad taste in customers’ mouths. Many have even been warning others not to go to the Greenville Wendy’s location.
All Wendy’s employees in the video were fired for an “egregious” violation of health and safety regulations, according to a spokesperson for the company. Christian Camp, the vice president of human resources at Team Schostak Family Restaurants, which owns the branch, said that this was “[C]ompletely unacceptable and counter to our safety, training and operational standards.”
The restaurant has been completely sanitized, and the health department visited the Greenville Wendy’s to conduct an inspection. No violations were reported.
