Get ready to fight evil by moonlight and win some love by daylight next year!
The official website for the two-part film “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie” announced that the first part is set to be on September 11, 2020, in Japan. The second part is scheduled to be released later that year.
This will be the first time in 25 years since Sailor Moon has seen a theatrical release. The last time Sailor Moon hit the big screen was during the release in 1995 of “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon SuperS: The Nine Sailor Soldiers Unite! Miracle of the Black Dream Hole / Sailor Moon SuperS: The Movie.”
The upcoming movie will be based on the fourth “Dead Moon” arc of Naoko Takeuchi’s original Sailor Moon manga. Additionally, it will be produced as the fourth arc of the “Sailor Moon Crystal” anime series.
Although details on the upcoming film are limited, it is expected that the Sailor Scouts will be getting a bit of a makeover, with new redesigns for their costumes, as well as new threats to face off with, and exciting new adventures.
“Sailor Moon” was originally created by Naoko Takeuchi for Nakayoshi magazine in 1991. And now, more than 20 years later, Sailor Moon is considered one of the most influential shojo series ever created.
