Rare Beauty will exclusively be offered at Sephora

Selena Gomez released her new album “Rare,” a new drop that she is describing as deeply personal. But along with the release of new music comes a new beauty brand that the star is launching this year.

On Feb. 4, Gomez announced the launch of her “Rare” cosmetics company via Instagram. “Guys, I’ve been working on this special project for two years and can officially say Rare Beauty is launching in @sephora stores in North America this summer,” Gomez wrote.

The post was accompanied by a video showing the singer testing out some of her products. She went on to encourage fans to follow @rarebeauty, the brand’s official Instagram page, and become a member of a “beautiful community.” In the span of an hour since being announced, the page amassed a million followers.

In an official statement, @rarebeauty stated that it is “Our mission is to shape conversations around beauty, self-acceptance, and mental health. We want to help people get more access to support and services, and help people feel more authentically connected to one another and less alone in the world.”

While Gomez did not reveal the kinds of products that will be included in the launch, based on her beauty test video, fans are likely to see foundations, concealers, mascaras, and lipsticks.

Rare Beauty will be sold exclusively at Sephora stores and Sephora inside JCPenney locations across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
