Student Tells Obama That She 'Really Wanted Beyonce'

What an honor it must be, as a young, impressionable student, to have a sitting United States president visit your school. Unless, you know, you were expecting Beyoncé.

When President Obama, the first lady and volunteers arrived at a public charter school in Washington, D.C. on Thursday to take part in the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance, one student wasn’t impressed.

The student, named Madison, was filling backpacks next to the president when she told him that when she’d heard somebody important was coming, she “really wanted it to be Beyoncé.”

The president laughed the comment off, telling Madison that his daughters would feel the same way. To save face, Madison added, “but then I realized it was going to be you and that’s even better!”

Sure it is, Madison. Sure it is.
