A night of laughs at the Golden Globes Awards
The 78th annual Golden Globes Awards ceremony was a unique night for television entertainment with a new hosting format in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic but was a much-needed night of laughter. In true award show fashion, there were a ton of hilarious moments that make it worth watching all three hours.

Comedy duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler co-hosted the Golden Globes Awards together in split-screen from opposite coasts with Fey in at the Rainbow Room in New York City and Poehler at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Despite being thousands of miles apart, the comedy duo took advantage of the hosting format for some funny interactions between the two throughout the night.

One actor or one dog was a viral sensation of the Golden Globes, Regina King’s dog named Cornbread. King is a nominee for Best Director for “One Night In Miami” but her adorable yet tired pup Cornbread stole the show sleeping on his bed in the background during King’s interview.
The Guaranteed Messy Acceptance Speech
Host Amy Poehler wanted to guarantee the awards show maintained tradition in at least one award-winner delivering a messy speech so she “created” a curated category for this moment. The award for Least Original Song in a Telefilm, Dramedy, or Comma went to Beverly Jackfruit (played by Maya Rudolph) and François Jean-Rudy (played by Kenan Thompson) that turned an award reception into an SNL skit.

They delivered truly one of the messiest speeches in Golden Globes history while creating an awkward moment for the crowd leaving the crowd questioning whether they were lovers or siblings. If you weren’t laughing you were left confused for a perfect messy speech moment.

This moment deserves to honor the humor created by the comedy producer and legend, Norman Lear, who created ground-breaking comedy sitcoms that are close to the hearts of generations of Americans. Lear made his name in Hollywood as the producer of hit sitcoms including “Sanford and Son” and “All in the Family,” as well as the 2017 revival of “The Jeffersons” and “Good Times.”

Tracy Morgan announced the winner for Best Original Score for the Pixar animation film “Soul” but pronounced it “Sawl” instead but attempted to correct himself before the winner accepted the award via live stream. It was a small slip-up but Tracy and the audience had a good laugh over the simple mistake.

Ben Stiller presented the award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical, or Comedy with panache and flaunting his new baking skills he developed while in quarantine. Stiller displayed his newly found baking skills of creating the perfect banana bread replica of a Golden Globe Award and takes a bite presenting the award with a mouth full of banana bread.
