Attacking seagull forces bank to escort customers under protective umbrella
Never come between a protective seagull mother and her seagull baby.
Bank customers of NatWest bank in Ipswich, England ducked for cover on Friday as a protective seagull swooped towards people as they approached the bank entrance, local news outlet the Ipswich Star reports.
According to the report, a baby seagull fell from its nest overnight and was resting near the door of the bank before eventually making its way to a safer location. Fortunately, a spokesperson for the bank reported that the baby chick did survive the fall and was not removed from its natural habitat.
To protect customers, a bak employee escorted people to and from the entrance using one of the best bird defensive mechanisms available: an umbrella.
A spokesperson for the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) told the Ipswich Star that in some cases it’s better to leave the animal with its natural parents instead of taking it into captivity.
Although two customers reported being hit by the bird, there were no serious injuries.
