Update: Giant snow penis returns, bigger than ever

By now you’ve probably heard about the large snow penis that sent the town of Gothenburg, Sweden into a tizzy.

After many complaints, park authorities managed to remove the penis etching with the help of an abnormally long brush. The removal inspired the creation of a Facebook group petitioning the return of the snow penis, which more than 3,000 people joined.

Well, we’re here to bring you a very important update regarding that snow penis: it’s back and bigger than ever.

Emilian Sava, one of the people who assisted in the original removal, saw the negative reactions to his work and had a major change of heart. He vowed to the people in a Facebook apology that he would give them a bigger, better snow penis.

A translation in The Local reads: “I want to say that I am sincerely sorry to see that this many people miss the snow penis. Our thought was to give a hand to the City Council who stand helpless and not try to stop the freedom of art.

For this I want to apologise. To recreate the snow penis in Vallgraven [another area of Gothenburg] is risky but we are thinking about you and at this moment I am trying to figure out the best way to recreate a big and lovely snow penis in the memory of the old one. Please offer suggestions and we will do our best to make this happen.”

Sava certainly followed through.

According to The Local, members of the Facebook group were eternally grateful — posting positive comments such as, “Everything is forgiven, everything is forgotten, a magnificent piece.”

One member wrote a simple but powerful, “Moved to tears,” while another exclaimed, “More snow penises for the people!”
