Ahead of her marriage to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle quit social media by deleting all her accounts. Now, much like the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, updates about Meghan and Prince Harry are shared via the palace’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages.
Recently, Kensington Palace announced Meghan Markle’s first major solo endeavor since becoming the Duchess of Sussex. She has launched a charitable cookbook, which “celebrates the power of cooking to bring people together.”
The book, titled “Together: Our Community Cookbook,” will be released on Sept. 20, and will feature more than 50 recipes from women who were affected by the Grenfell Tower fire in London.
In January 2018, Meghan met a group of women who gathered to cook twice a week in a communal kitchen at the Al Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre.
“I immediately felt connected to this community kitchen; it is a place for women to laugh, grieve, cry and cook together,” Markle, said in a statement. Since then, she has continued to make regular private visits to the kitchen.
As part of the cookbook’s marketing campaign, the Palace added a social-media component, producing a video for Instagram’s IGTV and promoting a special hashtag, “#CookTogether.”
Needless to say, fans of Meghan Markle can happily find the Duchess on social media again. Since the announcement, many of Meghan’s celebrity friends even posted on social-media to help to spread the word. This marks the first time since the royal wedding that most of Meghan’s celebrity friends have referenced the Duchess of Sussex on their accounts, or referred to her in any public way.
