Hugh Jackman has previously said that being a Guinness World Record holder is a dream of his.
“When I was a kid, the Guinness Book of Records was it,” Jackman once said, and it seems he’s finally fulfilled his lifelong dream.
Jackman has become an official record holder for the longest career as a live action Marvel superhero, and he received the news courtesy of British TV show “This Morning” and was presented with the award by Craig Glenday, Editor-in-Chief of Guinness World Records.
Jackman is now the holder of the world record for having the longest career as a live action Marvel superhero for a total of 16 years and 228 days. He shares the prize with Patrick Stewart who has worked with Marvel for the same amount of time.
Hugh received the award in recognition of his role Wolverine and shares the record with his co-star Sir Patrick Stewart, whose tenure as Professor Charles Xavier has also spanned the 16 years between X-Men and Logan. This is a pretty massive achievement, and Marvel fans hope their tenure goes on even longer.
Glenday praised Hugh Jackman for earning the Guinness World Record and noted that the X-Men actor was just a nice and down-to-Earth guy.
Presenter Alison Hammond, aka Jackman’s best friend, celebrated the moment with the star, making sure to include a video message from fellow record holder Patrick, lots of confetti, and three incredible showgirls.
To make things even more exciting, both Jackman and Stewart will be included in the 2020 edition of the book when it hits shelves.
