Al Roker took the “One Chip Challenge” back in 2016 and managed to keep a straight face the whole way through. He showed true skill as he conquered the hot wings with Evans. He had a strategy where you take a bite but don’t eat the whole thing.
Al Roker predicted he would only make it to wing three. He was interviewed by Sean Evans while they ate 10 spicy chicken wings, going from relatively mild to the extremes of hot spices.
In the interview he spoke about many things. From past roles he worked to his favorite food, he spoke about it all while trying to survive a heat wave.
He spoke about the challenges of being a celebrity and balancing a normal life. He said in the interview, “It depends on what you want. I like being on TV, but I’ve got another part of my life. I’ve got my family, friends, so I don’t feel this need to be ‘on’ all the time … I share some stuff on social media, but there’s people who are on constantly. Once you go down that road, I think it’s hard to pull back.”
Al Roker is a champion on and off the screen, being able to endure as many wings as he did.
