The National Park Service turned 99 years old Tuesday, and age is only doing good things for America’s national parks.
It took thousands of years for natural formations like Pine Creek Canyon to form in Zion National Park, Utah, but you can appreciate its beauty in just a moment. Adventurers have gone to great lengths to explore seemingly impossible to reach points in the park. Seeker Stories met one such adventurer who spends countless hours canyoneering — hiking into canyons and rappelling down into caves that are beautiful beyond belief.
“To the best of my knowledge, Pine Creek was one of the first technical canyons descended in Zion back in the late 70s,” said Charlie Kessner, a photographer and adventurer who gave Seeker’s team a view into this canyon in Utah’s national park.
Canyoneering can be dangerous, but you can watch this video from the comfort and safety of your computer.
