Cumberbatch considers live-action “Hercules” role
If there is any role Benedict Cumberbatch should play in Disney’s live-action “Hercules” movie, it should be Hades, hands down. Most known for his role as Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Strange in the 2016 Marvel box office hit as well as the Avengers films, the British actor is in talks to appear in another Disney movie.
Disney has been working its way through many of its animated classics, reimagining them as live-action films. More recently, the House of Mouse has been rumored to be working on a remake of their 1997 film “Hercules” and Cumberbatch is said to be in talks to play the role of the God of the Underworld.
Tate Donovan voiced the demigod in Disney’s animated version of “Hercules,” and there is talk that Alexander Skarsgard is at the top of the list to play the role of the hero in the live-action. But what is Disney’s Hercules without the sass and charisma of the King of the Underworld? The God of the Dead was originally voiced by James Woods, and the character has since gone on to be one of Disney’s most beloved and iconic antagonists.
Despite the excitement among fans of this possible casting, we will have to wait to find out the full cast.
