DJ Snake Collaborates With K-Pop Group BLACKPINK
The power K-pop girl group is on a roll and they are showing no signs of stopping! On May 14, one fan took to Instagram to ask DJ Snake a very important and exciting question: “Will you make a song with BLACKPINK?” In response to the question, DJ Snake simply answered “yes.”
Rumors of a collaboration between DJ Snake and BLACKPINK have been circulating since the music mixer posted about the K-pop girl group back in September 2018. Finally, after months and months of speculation and wonder, DJ Snake – the DJ/producer behind EDM hits including “Lean On,” “Taki Taki,” “Turn Down for What,” and so many more –confirmed he will be doing a song with the K-pop quartet.
Aside from BTS, BLACKPINK is quickly rising in global fame as the K-pop girl group with fierce hip-hop/pop moves. The group made significant waves for their major festival moment at Coachella 2019 and also garnered a slew of celebrity supporters showing up at their current In Your Area tour.
BLACKPINK has already collaborated with Dua Lipa on “Kiss and Make Up,” a special track on the deluxe edition of the singer’s self-titled, debut album.
In other big news, BLACKPINK has become the first K-pop group to have a music video with more than 800 million YouTube views.
The group debuted in 2016 and made history when their single, “Kill This Love,” charted on Billboard’s main singles chart ― the Hot 100 ― and the Official Singles Chart Top 100 in the United Kingdom for four and five weeks in a row, respectively.
