Cat Hones Predatory Instincts On Unsuspecting Toy Car

How, I wonder, do cats see the world compared to us? From our point of view, there is only a little boy playing with his slot car as the cat humorously chases it around the track. It’s cute and funny on paper, sure, but is it possible that, beneath the surface, there is something sinister afoot?

The cat’s eyes never leave the car. It has no knowledge that the car is merely an extension of its owner’s will; to the cat, it is prey. Small, red, plastic prey. And prey is meant to be hunted. Though the cat stuns its prey several times, it manages to escape its clutches and disorient it with fast, tricky movements. But the cat will not be swayed.

Though its paws no longer strike out, it is only biding its time. Sooner or later, the car will be lulled into a false sense of security. And that is when the predator will strike… or it’s just a dumb cat playing with a car. Whatever sounds best to you, I guess.
