Courteney Cox recently appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” where she talked about the breaking off her engagement with boyfriend Johnny McDaid in 2015, spending months apart, and eventually getting back together.
The 54-year-old actress says the two are now dating but no longer engaged. Instead, they maintain a long-distance relationship. McDaid lives in England, while Cox is based in Los Angeles.
“He’s not my fiancé. We were engaged to be married, but now we’re just together,” Cox said. “We broke off our engagement, and he moved to England, then we got back together, and it’s actually better than it was before.”
“Everything’s better,” Cox continued. “Not because he’s in London — although I think the distance after that breakup, we were apart for six months, that really showed us a lot. It’s just better.”
In other news, Cox revealed that she plans on joining Instagram, and knowing Ellen, the host had the perfect surprise ready to go.
“I’m going to help you, because I have 65 millions followers,” DeGeneres said. “I know how to do this. So we’re going to do something that’s going to be creative. I got a set over here for us.”
DeGeneres unveiled a recreation of the set of Friends‘ coffee shop, Central Perk, and began coaching Cox on how to pose.
“I wish Lisa Kudrow was here, because that would be fun,” DeGeneres said. And without skipping a beat, Kudrow walked out onto the set, surprising Cox.
