Disney Bringing The Concept Of Marvel Land To Life
With the success of the hugely popular Star Wars” Galaxy’s Edge, it is natural for Disney to want to expand and create more lands for people of all ages to enjoy. Walt Disney Co. is certainly in no mood to stop at the Disneyland Resort in California is moving full steam ahead on building next year’s planned expansion.
A land at California Adventure Park will soon feature a land dedicated to the superheroes of the Marvel comics and movies.
The city of Anaheim has issued Disney a construction permit, which after assessing the value of the work, comes out to about $14 million. One of the permits for the new Marvel-themed land allows for a 2,071-square-foot merchandise outlet, with three attached canopies.
Although Disney representatives declined to comment on the permits or type of attractions that would be included in the new land, previous news released did hint that one attraction would revolve around Spider-Man.
Marvel attractions are also planned to open at Epcot park in Florida in 2021, Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris in 2020 and Hong Kong Disneyland in 2023. More details on the upcoming Marvel Land are expected to be released at D23, which is happening Aug. 23 to 25 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
