Looks like we will have to wait a little longer for a few films…
The Walt Disney Company has altered its calendar of upcoming feature film releases, starting with the delay of the live-action spin-off “Cruella.” The highly anticipated movie will focus on the villain of the same name from 101 Dalmatians. But more interestingly, three Fox titles will be released in 2020 instead, pushing back the release date of “Cruella” to May 28, 2021.
Disney’s “Cruella” will Emma Stone as a younger version of the terrifying villain who wants to skin dalmatians to make a coat. Instead, Fox’s “The Woman in the Window,” a film based on the book of the same name by A.J. Finn, has been pushed up. The film follows Dr. Anna Fox (Amy Adams), a recluse in New York City who drinks her days away alone in her apartment, watching classic films and spying on her neighbors. When new neighbors move into the house across the way, she witnesses a shocking event that changes her life.
Originally being set for release this fall, the film will now open on May 15, 2020.
Additionally, Disney removed an untitled live-action film, once dated for May 28, 2021, from its schedule. Instead, two Fox titles, “Empty Man” and “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie” have been dated for Aug. 7, 2020 and Oct. 23, 2020, respectively. “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie,” adapted from the British stage musical, will star Richard E. Grant as a former drag queen and mentor to a teenage boy.
