The biggest night in music with plenty of performers
The AMAs kicked off with a performance by Justin Bieber of his latest hit single “Lonely” and “Holy” along with his new collaboration song with Shawn Mendes, “Monster.” Bieber’s performance marks the 10th anniversary of his first appearance at the AMAs and he is also the first performer to feature drones on the AMAs stage.

The second performance of the night starred the host of the awards show event Taraji P. Henson dancing to a selection of dance hits including some nominated songs. The first award of the night for best R&B album was presented to The Weeknd who took his broken nose look to the next level with a complete face wrap as if he just walked out of surgery.
Katy Perry is another AMAs performer celebrating the 10th anniversary of her debut on the AMAs stage with her new song “Only Love” performing alongside country star Darius Rucker. Katy Perry is known for her elaborate outfits and performances but this performance was all about the music.

The Weeknd performed his hit songs “In Your Eyes” and “Save Your Tears” on a bridge in Los Angeles with a special cameo with Kenny G. The performance was a first in AMAs history that was filmed with the help fo drones to capture every angle of the performance.
J-Lo brought the heat to the stage of the AMAs performing her new songs with Maluma for a prison-themed performance with J-Lo as the criminal and Maluma as her lawyer. They debuted two new songs “Pa’ti” and “Lonely featured in the upcoming movie “Marry Me.”
Dua Lipa levitated in outer space among actual stars for her performance of “Levitating” live from London. Dua Lipa also won the award for Best Pop/Rock Song for “Don’t Start Now.” If you missed the live airing of the AMAs, you can watch it now on ABC on-demand.
