Disney Reveals First-Look At ‘The Lion King’
Time to get excited for another Disney movie release because the studios have finally dropped the much-anticipated trailer to their live-action adaption of “The Lion King.”
Disney has released the first full-length trailer for the upcoming movie, which is expected to smash box office records with an all-star cast. Scar, the villain voiced by Chiwetel Ejiofor, narrates the powerful trailer, giving fans the first up-close look at the CGI magic used to bring the animal kingdom to life. The film is set to premiere on July 19, which is 25 years after the original animation was released.
Much like the storyline of the original film, the trailer shows Simba growing from a lonely cub to the ruler of the animal kingdom, while he makes friends with a cast of characters along the way.
Donald Glover plays Simba, Billy Eichner plays Timon, Seth Rogan plays Pumbaa and Beyonce plays Nala. But the star-studded lineup doesn’t end there. Comedians Keegan-Michael Key, John Oliver and Eric Andre also have roles, and Alfre Woodard voices Sarabi, Simba’s mom while James Earl Jones reprises his role as Mufasa.
To further elevate the majestic trailer, music by the famous Hans Zimmer plays in the background as fans get a glimpse trailer of the realistic-looking lions, hyenas, birds, and waterfalls.
Jon Favreau, who also directed the live-action and CGI version of “The Jungle Book,” is back at the helm for this Disney remake, so there’s certainly a lot to be excited for.
