This time, a Florida man has done a good deed and isn’t making headlines for doing something weird
Alec Sprague was just a local customer at Costco in Jacksonville, Florida when he captured the moment a good Samaritan purchased thousands of dollars’ worth of generators and food to send to the Bahamas. Sprague posted a picture of the man on Facebook and the act of generosity quickly went viral, gaining thousands of shares and making the local news.
“Was just in Cosco off Collins getting a generator (at $450 each) and this guy right here is purchasing over 100 generators and food to send to the Bahamas! All I could do was shake his hand and thank him! There still are good people in the world!” Sprague captioned the post.
The post received thousands of comments from people sharing their praise for the man’s generosity.
Like the kind Florida man, many are pitching in donations and aid to help the Bahamas, which had just been battered by Hurricane Dorian this past weekend.
Days after Hurricane Dorian inflicted “generational devastation” on islands in the Bahamas, foreign aid has arrived to support rescue efforts, feed the people and assess the damage.
Dorian, the strongest hurricane ever to hit the Bahamas, wiped out entire neighborhoods when it made landfall Sunday as a Category 5 storm. Even worse for the Bahamas, the storm lingered for days, pounding the same already battered places again.
