We have all had a bad day, but most people will never experience a turtle crashing through their windshield while driving on the interstate. But that is exactly what happened to a 71-year-old woman while traveling with her daughter on Florida’s I-95. The woman’s daughter and a nearby motorist who stopped to help were both stunned by what they found.

The shocking incident occurred near Daytona Beach, FL. Authorities believe the turtle was attempting to cross the highway when another motor vehicle must have knocked the animal into the air, causing it to crash through the window. The woman suffered a gash to the forehead when the turtle suddenly crashed through the car’s windshield striking her. Surprisingly everyone (including the turtle) came out of the incident safely. The woman was treated for her wound, and the turtle had minor scratches to its shell and was later released into the woods.
