Hailey Baldwin said she is “beyond excited” about her engagement to Justin Bieber and is not letting the haters get her down. The 24-year-old pop singer proposed to the 21-year-old model during a trip to the Bahamas in July amid a whirlwind rekindled romance.
“I’m beyond excited,” Baldwin told the Australian magazine “Stellar,” which mark her first remarks about the engagement.
News of Bieber’s proposal had spurred some unhappy reactions from many fans, especially fans of Bieber and his ex Selena Gomez. When asked how the increased scrutiny and interest in her personal life over the past two months has affected her, Baldwin went on to share that she is not letting herself get too caught up in what the critics and haters have to say about her relationship.
“I don’t think it’s affected me really. I have learned to just try my best to ignore the negativity at this time so that I can enjoy this season of my life,” Baldwin said.
Just before getting engaged, Baldwin turned off her Instagram comments as fans who were rooting for Bieber and Gomez continued to leave nasty comments on Baldwin’s older posts.
Bieber is equally excited about his engagement to Baldwin as he confirmed the exciting news on social media post with a loved filled caption.
“Was gonna wait a while to say anything but word travels fast, listen plain and simple Hailey I am soooo in love with everything about you!” Bieber wrote in the caption. “So committed to spending my life getting to know every single part of you loving you patiently and kindLY. I promise to lead our family with honor and integrity letting Jesus through his Holy Spirit guide us in everything we do and every decision we make.”
