This isn’t the first time Trump has forced a cameo
The director of the famous family comedy movie “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” recaps some of the secret behind-the-scene moments of the holiday movie including one unpleasant one with Donald Trump. You might remember the cameo of the former “business tycoon” in The Plaza lobby with the young star of the movie Kevin McCallister played by Macaulay Culkin.
The film’s director, Chris Columbus, explained that Trump’s cameo wasn’t officially planned but explained it all started after learning that Trump was the owner of the famed hotel in 1992. Columbus recalled that Trump agreed to let them film in the lobby and paid a fee to film but Trump told him the only way he was allowed to film the scene if Trump made a cameo.

Columbus wasn’t sure whether he would keep the cameo so he included the cameo in the initial screening and the audience cheered during the Trump cameo so he decided to keep it in the movie. You might have seen Trump make cameos in other movies including “Little Rascals,” “Zoolander,” and “The Associate.”
According to other sources, this isn’t the first time Trump imposed making a cameo in other movies filmed on his properties. Other filmmakers have confirmed that they were required to write in a part or cameo for Trump if they wanted to use any of his properties for filming. Actor and director, Matt Damon, revealed in a 2017 interview that everyone in Hollywood knew that filming on a Trump property required a cameo for the owner.

Though a majority of Trump cameos were featured in the final cut of the films featured on his properties, the 1992 film “Scent of a Woman” decided to cut his cameo. One of the leading actors in the movie, Chris O’Donnell, revealed in an interview with Conan O’Brien in 2017 that the cast received a revised script featuring a walk-on role for Donald Trump and ex-wife Marla Maples. O’Donnell confirmed that Trump’s scene was ultimately edited out of the final cut of the movie.
