K-Pop Band BTS To Present At The Upcoming Grammys

It doesn’t seem like K-pop shows any sign of cooling down in the U.S. because the Grammys just drummed up major hype in the form of international K-pop phenomenon BTS.

South Korean septet BTS will reportedly make an appearance at the 2019 Grammy Awards. According Variety, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jin, Jimin, V and Jungkook will present an award at the 61st Grammys on Feb. 10 — their first time in attendance at the Grammys.

Although it has not been revealed what award the group might present, BTS themselves was nominated for a Grammy in the best recording package (artwork) category for their 2018 album, “Love Yourself: Tear.” The album, which marked the group’s first chart-topper in the United States, goes up against against St. Vincent’s “Masseduction,” Mitski’s “Be the Cowboy,” the Chairman’s “The Offering,” and Foxhole’s “Well Kept Thing.”

From the looks of it, 2019 will prove to be a massive year for the group much like last year. Looking back, the boy band launched two consecutive No. 1 albums in the U.S. in 2018: “Love Yourself: Tear” and its follow-up, “Love Yourself: Answer.” The latter went gold and became the first K-pop album to earn an RIAA certification.

BTS is currently in the middle of its Love Yourself World Tour, which included 15 sold-out arena and stadium dates in North America. BTS commemorated the massive tour with the BTS World Tour Love Yourself in Seoul concert film, which debuted in cinemas around the world last week.

The Grammys will air on CBS on Sunday, Feb. 10, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. However, if you can’t get enough of BTS until then, just hop on Twitter because #BTSxGrammys is trending and is the second-most popular hashtag in the world behind #TheBachelor.
