KFC Rolling Out New Mac & Cheese Bowls

KFC bowl now available is cheesy form

Who doesn’t love a good hot bowl of gooey mac & cheese? It’s the perfect meal for those needing a cheese fix. But did you hear that KFC has its own extra-special version of the famous dish?

A mac & cheese battle has been slowly building up in the world of fast food. KFC announced a new addition to their menu: the Mac and Cheese Bowl. The menu item is like their Famous Bowls, only with macaroni and cheese instead of mashed potatoes and corn).

According to a press release, “The limited-time entrée is the latest in KFC food innovation, combining KFC’s rich and creamy mac and cheese, topped with KFC’s crispy popcorn chicken, and sprinkled with a three-cheese blend.”

Additionally, “The new menu item also comes in a spiced-up version with KFC’s spicy, smoky Nashville Hot sauce.”

The new food option comes right after Chick-fil-A’s own announcement that it would be offering mac and cheese officially on the menu nationwide. It is now a permanent menu nationwide, the first such addition since 2016.

Amanda Norris, executive director of menu and packaging, said that the mac and cheese is “[T]he perfect pairing with our Original Chicken Sandwich, nuggets and our grilled chicken offerings, but it’s also great on its own as a snack.”
