Japan is back at it again with another unique KitKat flavor
Known for their many delicious and eccentric flavors that are seasonal or inspired by traditional and regional specialties, KitKat Japan is back with a flavor that is sire to become a delicious and convenient souvenir for visitors.
Kyoto has the green tea KitKat and Hokkaido has melon; not it’s Sendai’s turn for a delicious KitKat specialty.
KitKat Japan will be debuting a zunda flavor, which is soybeans boiled and crushed into a paste then mixed with sugar. It is a traditional specialty of the Sendai region, and a favorite souvenir for travelers. Zunda is also known for its health benefits and use in many other desserts like parfaits or mochi. Another popular way to consume zunda is in milkshake, which is exactly what the KitKat will be flavored after.
The Zunda Shake became popular by Zunda Saryo, a company that offers delicious soybean paste sweets. The famous shake is mixed with zunda, milk and vanilla flavoring.
The special KitKat flavor will be a chocolate shake crossover by adding soybean powder to the cream between the bar’s wafers and covering it in Zunda Shake flavor chocolate.
The chocolates are already being sold in boxes of nine mini bars costing 800 yen as of Dec 1.
