The Biden inauguration will kick off with a performance by Lady Gaga
With less than a week away from the anticipated Biden inauguration one of Biden’s friends from his campaign trail will be performing at the 59th inaugural ceremony. Lady Gaga will be performing the national anthem for the Biden inauguration among the celebrities and community leaders to celebrate the 46th president of the United States of America.

Lady Gaga endorsed Biden throughout his 2020 campaign and performed during Biden’s last rally of the 2020 presidential campaign on the eve of Election Day in one of the pivotal electoral college states, Pennsylvania. As Gaga was the last to perform for the Biden administration, she will be the first to welcome in the new president performing the national anthem.
The 2021 inauguration ceremony will also host performances and appearances by celebrity guests including Jennifer Lopez. The ceremony was intended to be bigger but has invested in more security following the Capitol Hill riot to create a safe event for all participants.
The grand occasion will be on a smaller scale in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic adhering to social distancing regulations with limited participants. The ceremony will follow tradition starting at noon on January 20 according to the 20th Amendment of the Constitution.

The ceremony is expected to start airing at 11:30 a.m. ET/8:30 a.m. PT on all news networks and social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook Live, and YouTube. The inauguration organizers will also be featuring a televised virtual parade featuring performances across the country with some celebrity guests.
The “Celebrating America” virtual celebration is hosted by Tom Hanks featuring celebrity appearances including R&B singer Ant Clemons, Justin Timberlake, Jon Bon Jovi, and Demi Lovato. The 90 minute special will celebrate and welcome the new president in a grand affair with a safe event.

Mayor of Washington D.C. Muriel Bowser requests citizens to participate virtually after growing security concerns following the Capitol Hill riot. Mayor Bowser is calling on the Supreme Court and Congress requesting assistance from the Department of Homeland Security to coordinate with the departments of Justice and Defense to “establish a security and federal force deployment plan for all federal property.”
