Larry Wilmore compares 'Game of Thrones' to the 2016 election

The night is dark and full of punditry.

On the April 13 episode of The Nightly Show, host Larry Wilmore explained how the plot of HBO’s Game of Thrones is eerily comparable to the plot and players in the 2016 presidential election.

Wilmore begins by comparing Hillary Clinton to Daenerys Targaryen, claiming both are powerful women who had their chances at ruling the kingdom wiped out from under them (by Robert Baratheon and President Obama, respectively) a few years ago. He continues with apt comparisons of the Bush family and the Lannisters, Rand Paul and Stannis Baratheon and, last but not least, Ted Cruz and Hodor.

For the rest of the clip, Wilmore deconstructs Clinton’s announcement video section by section, paying particular attention to the dog that eats garbage.
